Referring to Mr Chamberlain's Despatch No.321 dated the 3rd October, 1902, which regulates the calculation of the monthly rate of Exchange for Sterling Salaries in this Colony, I have the honour to enclose copies of the correspondence noted in the margin which has recently passed between Sir Francis Piggott and myself in this matter.

2. I am bringing this correspondence to Your Lordship's notice to meet the wish expressed in the 9th paragraph of Sir Francis Piggott's letter of the 2nd April. It does not, however, appear to require any comment from me and I have no recommendation to make on its subject.
